We strengthen organizations, not just brands.
We don’t believe in PR stunts. We think changing your identity to avoid an issue with your culture is a missed opportunity. We know that if done well, communications can not only reach more potential supporters but can also energize staff and build the capacity of boards. Therefore, we will view your organization holistically. We will ask as many questions about your culture and capacity as your communications. It’s an approach that will leave you with more effective tools and what we hope is a fresh way of looking at your work.
We never stop learning, because we believe progress comes to perpetual students.
In our view, any strategist, writer, designer or web developer who fails to keep learning is essentially a driver with an expired license. And learning means doing. That’s why we revamp our website like a kid outgrowing her clothes every year, host a podcast, attend conferences such as DrupalCon and TechWeek, participate in projects such as Startup Weekend, read a ridiculous number of blogs and more. We think if more people were concerned about being students than they were about being experts, the world would get further, faster.
We are intentional and integrated.
We have chosen to stay small and nimble so that we can work alongside organizations and give them access to our collective talents. We also choose to be as collaborative and integrated as possible. For our web projects, for instance, we plan holistically for messaging, content, design and functionality. We think about your website as a brand experience rather than just another tool. This makes the difference between a website that tells a compelling, cohesive story and a website that feels like a series of templates.
Social change – and all the passion that comes with it – is in our DNA.
We were on a mission long before the days of DVQ. Originally satisfied as staff members of nonprofits, we eventually felt pulled to something bigger. To pull from the sector’s lovely jargon, we wanted to “scale our impact” and help social change agents shift how the work of change happens. While our practical expertise is in communications, writing, design and web development, it is all shared in service to that bigger purpose… a purpose we have big plans to achieve, both in our work with clients and in other forthcoming projects.
